Personal Safety for Charities & Voluntary Organisations
Thursday 7th December 2006 from 9.15am to 4.30 pm
The London Voluntary Resources Centre, London N7 6PA
This one day conference has been prepared specifically for people
working in charitable or voluntary organizations to help delegates
understand the personal safety risks and responsibilities and through
in-depth case studies, presentations, and sharing of good practice,
delegates will be guided through the necessary steps to reduce and
control personal safety risks in relation to charity/voluntary sector.
Many of those involved in charity and voluntary work can be in high
risk roles with challenging and diverse clients. It is not uncommon
for workers in this sector to put potential risk to themselves to the
back of their minds in order to provide services to those who need
them most. It is vital that people in these roles understand the risks
that they may face and how to deal with them in order for charities
and voluntary organisations to continue their highly valuable work.
This conference is designed specifically for those working in the
third sector to consider ways in which we can meet our moral and legal
responsibilities whilst ensuring that working for charities and
volunteering remains rewarding and enjoyable.
