Churchill Travelling Fellowships - Closing date 21st October

The Winston Churchill Memorial Trust supports British citizens from
the UK wishing to gain experience and knowledge abroad. Grants cover
return air fare, daily living, travel within countries being visited
and, in exceptional circumstances, some assistance with home expenses.
Grants usually cover a stay overseas of between 4-8 weeks. The
Fellowship scheme does not cover attending courses, academic study,
gap year projects or student grants.
2007 Categories are:
* Science and Technology. Applications are sought from a wide spectrum
of interests in Science & Technology.
* Diet and Health. The Trust is looking for applications from, amongst
others, those dealing with obesity, dieticians, producers of healthy
foods, researchers and practitioners in promoting healthy eating.
* Adventure, Exploration and Leaders of Expeditions. (To avoid
disappointment, team members of expeditions should not apply).
* Sport. With the approach of the 2012 Olympics, the Trust seeks
applications in any sports-related topic, including the provision of
facilities, training, coaching and organisation in schools and clubs.
* Theatre, Ballet and Opera. The Trust seeks applications from those
involved in all aspects of these arts.
* Multicultural Relationships in British Society. Those involved in
breaking down cultural barriers and integrating society.
* Special Educational Needs. Workers involved in the teaching,
development or organization of Special Educational Needs of all age
ranges, including the deaf and blind.
* Climate Change. The Trust seeks applications from people working in
any aspect of dealing with, and adapting to, Climate Change.
* Workers in Tourism & Related Service Industries.
* The Third Age - Opportunities and Challenges for an Ageing
Population. The Trust will support projects that examine any aspects
of enriching life for the elderly, including but not exclusive to:
work, retirement, leisure, finance, medical and social support, social
contact, fitness and health, community involvement.
* One Special Award in the field of History.
Applications must be submitted to the Trust no later than 5pm on 21
October 2007 - late applications for whatever reason will not be
accepted.
