Women's Empowerment Network Training

Confidence Building
21st October 2006 @10.30am

Fears and anxieties are known to get in the way of achieving our
desires. This is usually brought on by a "Critical Inner Voice"
constantly seeking to negatively evaluate ones capabilities. Having a
firm trust or belief does not come easy, hence this course seeks to
aid participants in negotiating with their "critical inner voice", so
as to enable them achieve their goals more effectively.

Note: This training is on a Saturday.

Goal Achievement
15th November, 2006

Achieving ones desired goal is quite important. It determines the
level of fulfilment likely to be experienced by an individual and the
heights to which one can climb on the ladder of success. If you want
to succeed in your personal or professional life this course is for
you.

Living Together
29th November, 2006

Living in a multi-cultural society brings together a diversity of
perspectives to living harmoniously. Within an array of cultures and
faiths, there are more similarities than we would like to admit. It is
these similarities that we intend to focus on, whilst at the same
learning strategies for living amicably in a society where pluralism
is the norm.

This is a faith-based project which seeks to bring together women and
young girls of various faiths within the borough of Barking and
Dagenham. If you have a faith and are interested in contributing or
learning more about how people of faith can live together in peace
within a community or society at large, contact us.

Communicating with sensitivity
28th February, 2007

This is similar to the training in Assertiveness with Intercultural
perspectives except that it is designed specifically for people of
faith.

Assertiveness Training with Intercultural perspectives
21st March, 2007

Assertiveness means the ability to express ones self in such a way
that it does not infringe upon the rights of another person. In so
doing one will have to have an idea of the rights one has, and the
rights of the other within a particular context to be able to assert
ones self positively. Assertiveness is one of the most essential
skills needed to be highly effective in the workplace in the western
world and has its origins in teaching women to express themselves.

If you have issues communicating within a cross-cultural setting or
you want to learn more on how you can communicate effectively across
cultures, then this course is for you.
