New Migrants Rights & Entitlements and Women from Abroad and Domestic
Violence - Training in London

Alice Tligui is an experienced trainer specialising in subjects
relating to migration, community cohesion and integration. A former
international aid worker with experience in DRC, Ecuador, Ethiopia,
Kenya, Malawi, Romania, Sri Lanka, Uganda and Zambia, as well as 3
years as Chief Executive of the International Health Exchange - a
charity that trains health workers to work abroad - she has a wealth
of personal experience to draw from in her current work. Since 2002,
she has worked with refugee organisations in the North West, training
many public and voluntary sector workers in the region in refugee
awareness before setting up Alice Tligui Training in 2005.


New Migrants: Rights & Entitlements

This information packed one day course will help those who work with
new migrants to better understand the diversity of this group

The course will help participants to gain an understanding of the
complexity of the current systems of welfare, health and education
entitlements for new migrant groups including :
* Eastern European migrants
* Asylum Seekers and Refugees
* Workers and work seekers from Europe and beyond
* International students
* Those who have come to the UK to join family members

Women from Abroad and Domestic Violence

This one day course:
* Discusses the barriers faced by women from abroad in accessing
support services.
* Looks in detail at the immigration rules as they apply to women who
have suffered domestic violence.
* Looks at the current policy and availability of support for both
those who have suffered domestic abuse and trafficked women.
* Works through a number of cases and scenarios.
* Examines what individuals and organisations can do to help.
