Practical tips and strategic solutions on how to find 50 ways to leave
your funder
22 April 2008 from 9:30-2:00pm
University of London Union, Euston, London WC1E 7HY
Half day information and networking event for staff, volunteers and
board members working for voluntary and community organisations in
London.
Who should attend?
. Staff, volunteers and board members working for voluntary and
community organisations in London.
Aims and objectives of the day
An interactive session that will help you understand:
. Current changes in the funding world
. How to maximise your funding opportunities
. How other organisations do it!
Network exchange
. Dedicated time and space to share your experience, learn from
others, and make contacts to help you develop solutions foryour
organisation's financial sustainability.
Specialist support
. There will be a number of specialists on hand to help you tap into
your own expertise and hear the latest approaches/trends to developing
a diverse funding stream. They will lead the morning sessions to help
ensure you get the most from this event.
Graham Collins: Sustainability Funding Manager, The Sustainable
Funding Project (SFP), NCVO
. He will provide an introduction to what is meant by sustainable
funding and will focus on trading in the open market. He will explore
the 'why' and 'how' of trading and identify the key issues to
consider. Practical tools will be provided to support frontline
organisations in adopting a sustainable funding approach.
Uday Thakkar: Director, Red Ochre
. From social enterprise to loan finance, he will introduce
participants to a range of enterprising ways to increase and diversify
their organisations' income, help identify the risks and rewards of
these different approaches, the options available and how to plan
their next steps to a more viable and secure future.
