SEV NECATI - WOMEN AND YOUNG PEOPLE'S SAFETY SOLUTIONS

Sev Necati runs a project called "Women & Young People's Safety
Solutions". The project assists young people, women and front line
workers on all safety issues that affect them.

It provides practical and simple real life tools, techniques and
information by teaching participants about threat awareness and
avoidance, the law, how to manage risk, self-esteem and confidence
building. It provides a forum where people can share their
experiences, find new strategies/techniques to change the way they
resolve difficulties as a result of abuse from criminal activity, gang
culture or cultural beliefs which have caused physical, mental,
sexual, emotional, financial or psychological distress. All of the
work stems from Sev's personal experiences and she already has a
substantial track record.

Awards for her work include: Barclays Trading Places, Community
Champions, UnLtd, Shell LiveWire Young Entrepreneur Awards - Local &
Regional Level, The New Entrepreneur Scholarship Programme from the
University of East London, East London Small Business Centre, HBV
Enterprise, The Prince's Trust and sponsorship to attend the I-Genius
World Summit and has been recognised for her work by the Hackney Mayor
's Business Awards. Sev has worked with Tower Hamlets in the past to
run their personal safety course "Warrior Women" which was the winner
of the Increasing Safety award at the Mayor's Domestic Violence
awards. The project is included in the Domestic Violence 2007 Annual
report, "category one: for increasing the safe choices for women and
children", including self-defence and empowerment work. All women
that attended this course said in their evaluations how they had felt
more confident after the training, how unaware they were of their
rights and how they felt empowered after the training.

Sev has worked for a number of organisation including: Tower Hamlets
Domestic Violence Unit, Hackney Domestic Violence Forum, Enfield Women
's Forum - Metropolitan Police, Youth Offending Team, Crime Concern,

name a few. She has had high profile collaborations including: The
Metropolitan Police, The British Transport Police, The Home Office,
Haven, Suzy Lamplugh Trust, The Jill Dando Crime Science Institution

Her goal is to run the project on a continuous basis through the inner
London boroughs. She can achieve this by being invested and supported
by others that have a vision to help reduce crime in our communities.
It is estimated that it costs £800m per annum to pick up the pieces of
violence and the affect in has on individuals, women, children and the
community. If you are interested in finding out more about her
project work please contact her on the details below.
