Dear Colleague,
I enclose details of our forthcoming Westminster Briefing entitled:
"Supporting Female Victims of Crime: Improving Services for Women
Affected by Domestic Violence and Rape" which will be hosted by The
House Magazine on Thursday, 19th June 2008 in Westminster.
The 2005 Green Paper 'Rebuilding Lives: Supporting Victims of Crime'
states "The Government is committed to helping victims of crime as
fully
as possible. We want to provide support that is immediate, practical,
tailored to their needs and locally-delivered". This Westminster
Briefing will allow participants the opportunity to examine the latest
Government initiatives to support female victims of crime and debate
and
discuss future policy direction.
Delegates will also hear examples of best practice from projects and
schemes that:
* provide physical and emotional comfort to victims,
* encourage victims to report their crime and support them through
the legal process,
* train staff to deal more sensitively with victims,
* use multi-agency risk assessment conferencing (MARAC) to support
vulnerable women,
* support victims of 'date rape', particularly students,
* support family members as well as the victim,
* educate the public about rape and domestic violence.
Should you/your colleagues wish to attend please complete and return
(by
email or fax) the attached reservation form at your earliest
convenience
in order to secure your delegate place(s). If a booking form is not
attached, a copy is also available by clicking here

event to relevant colleagues within your organisation.
Kind regards,
Luke
