Equality Standard for Local Government Event: 'No Quality Without
Equality' - 15 April 2008
Capital Ambition warmly invites to you the launch of 'No Quality
Without Equality', on Tuesday 15 April from 6:30 - 9pm at Glaziers
Hall, London.
In 2006 Capital Ambition set out the vision for the capital's public
services to become leaders in innovation, fairness, relevance,
efficiency and effectiveness. At the heart of this was a target for
90% of London's authorities to attain level 4 of the Equality Standard
for Local Government (ESLG) by the end of 2008/2009.
Following on from research and analysis of the status of London
authorities in relation to the ESLG and the barriers facing them in
reaching level 4, Capital Ambition commissioned Michael Bell
Associates to deliver a programme of work to support London
authorities to achieve this stretching target.
This event, sponsored by the Government Office for London, marks the
closure of the project and the launch of the report 'No Quality
Without Equality'. It sets out the achievements of London authorities,
the challenges along the way and those that lie ahead, as well as
discussing the wider relationship with the business of local
government, community leadership, empowerment and engagement and
community cohesion.
Keynote Speaker:
* Yasmin Alibhai-Brown, Journalist
