London Advice Service Alliance opens social trends database to all
voluntary organisations
Lasa has opened a database that gathers data on service users and
identifies social policy trends to any voluntary sector organisation.
The Aims contact management database also performs tasks such as
documenting collaborative work with other groups and has been running
since 2000.
The software has been adopted by many groups offering advice and
information services.
It is currently being used by large local authorities for their
welfare rights services, by councils for voluntary service and by many
small community groups.
Lasa said that many small organisations would benefit from being able
to record and report on the work they do but find the cost of
technology a major barrier.
The database comes with guides and support materials and training
courses on the system are run throughout the year.
