John Lyons Charity - London

The John Lyons Charity's main policy is to enhance the conditions of life and
improve the life-chances of young people through education. The Charity awards
grants to a broad range of charities for the benefit of the children and young
people who are resident in the beneficial area. Since 1992 the Charity has
distributed some £30 million at an average of £17,000 per grant to an enormous
range of services for young people, including youth clubs, arts projects,
counselling, child care and parental support schemes, sports and academic
bursaries and scholarships.

Grants are given to registered charities (or groups that have automatic
charitable status) for the benefit of children and young adults who are resident
in the London Boroughs of Barnet, Brent, Camden, Ealing, Hammersmith and Fulham,
Harrow, the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea and the Cities of London and
Westminster. The Charity does not give grants to individuals.

They give grants:

* to support education and training, particularly for young adults

diversity through activities such as dance, drama, music, creative-writing and
the visual arts
