 New Training Opportunities available at The Haven Wolverhampton

The Haven has lots in store for 2010 with many exciting events planned and
opportunities available for you to become involved  in the great work being done
to support women and children affected by Domestic Violence and Homelessness.

The Haven Wolverhampton is a local charity which has been providing refuge and
community support services to women and children affected by Domestic Violence
since 1973.

The Haven is currently able to support up to 46 women and 100 children at any
one time in its refuge provision, with many more women and children being
supported in the community through the Community Advocacy Support Team and
Counselling & Psychotherapy service.

The Haven Training Team has developed and delivered National Open College
Network Accredited Domestic Violence Awareness Training to individuals and
organisations from across the UK, Europe and Asia.

Throughout 2010 The Training team will be running a series of "Domestic Violence
Awareness Multi-Agency Days" covering a number of DV related topics including:

*Myths and Stereotpes                *Good Practice                 *Legislation
and the Criminal Justice System                 *Cultural & Equality Issues

The Multi Agency day is open to anybody at a cost of just £50 per person and
lunch is provided.

The training will take place on:

Friday 12th February                       Tuesday 11th May
Wednesday 8th September                 Tuesday 30th November
