Subject: FW: Free legal help (Immigration/asylum)
Hi,
The Immigration Advisory Service is a national charity and the largest charity
specialising in Immigration and Asylum law. Our caseworkers are experienced
professionals and as an organisation we have over 35 year experience in
assisting clients with their immigration problems.
Caseworkers deal with matters across all areas of Immigration and Asylum law.
Cases range from the dependants of those already settled in the UK (children,
husbands, wives, elderly relations) seeking to come to the UK for permanent
settlement and to visitors, students and others seeking to come to the UK for
temporary purposes whose applications have been refused and those seeking
international protection.
People already present in the UK often seek advice and representation from IAS
about the admission of relatives and about their own applications to change
their status or for further leave to remain.
Our primary aim is to assist those subject to immigration control. Many of our
clients are vulnerable and our lawyers and legal advisers are, as you would
from those working within a charity, deeply committed to helping people with
immigration problems.
We keen to work in partnership with agencies like yourself to ensure that your
service users are able to get the best possible legal advice and assistance in
relation to their immigration/asylum matters.
All of our offices can provide female & male caseworkers, many of whom speak
more than one language. We are also able to provide gender specific
interpreters if requested and IAS operates a strict code of client
confidentiality.
Your organisation can refer people to any of our network of offices across the
UK for further information about opening times and services offered. We offer
free legal representation to those who are eligible.
I have attached a list of offices in the North Region and their contact
numbers - for your workers. I have also provided the email address and contact
numbers of the Casework Team Leaders within each of these offices who can be
contacted for further information and to discuss referral arrangements for those
in need of assistance. (These numbers should not be for general distribution to
clients but for your staff only, in order for them to make contact regarding
referrals)
We also provide training courses at our venues in Bradford & Manchester in
Immigration & Asylum law, at different levels, which your organisation may be
interested in. Please visit the training section of our website for further
information: www.iasuk.org <http://www.iasuk.org/>
I would be grateful if you could mention IAS and the free legal assistance that
we can offer to other relevant agencies. If there is anything you would like to
discuss with me further please do not hesitate to contact me.
Regards,
Temoor Raja
